Phyllis Joan Mannolini Hutton Washburn beloved wife, mother and sister died April 3, 2022, after a long battle with dementia. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Louis and Mary (Verhagen) Mannolini; her first husband Donald Hutton (US Air Force); and her second husband Donald E. Washburn.
She was born April 3, 1935, and was a 1953 graduate of Cobleskill NY High School. She was a natural born manager and held numerous managerial positions in the retail sector. It was over the span of fifty years that her thirst for adventure was somewhat satisfied as the family moved nearly twenty times. During that time her favorite moments were flying to fun destinations in small aircraft or crossing the United States on their motorcycle. Her travels throughout Europe on motorcycles brought even more joy. The family loved the game of golf and she spent many happy hours with friends and family at the Cobleskill Country Club. Her spiritual life began in the Mineral Springs Methodist Church and that remained with her the rest of her life. Her greatest love was held for her boys and her numerous pets, she held great compassion for all animals.
She was survived by her sons, Jerrold Wade Hutton and Jeffrey Louis Hutton; granddaughter, Jessica Spearman (Cut); great-grandchildren, Witt Spearman and Wade Spearman and sister, Carol A. Mannolini, all of Virginia Beach, VA.
The family would like to express special thanks to Amedisys Home Health for providing hospice services. The kindness and professional care from the staff (Angie, LuAnn, Cherri, Brittany, Denise, Jennifer, Michelle and Becky) was unparalleled. We also will never forget the loving care during these last few months from our friend Rhonda Fluharty and the wonderful professional care of Dr. Laura Heiby with her extensive knowledge of dementia and her compassion for all her patients.
A graveside service will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at the Cobleskill Rural Cemetery, Hillview Section. H.D. Oliver Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, Virginia Beach, VA and Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY are handling arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to Schoharie County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 40, Howe Cave, NY 12092.
