Obituary

Loudonville- Patricia A. Fitzpatrick, 87, of Loudonville joined her loved ones that went to heaven before her on Saturday, January 29, 2022, in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side.

Born on January 4, 1935, in Albany, she was the daughter of Ralph and Bernadette (Micare) Bucci.  A lifelong resident of Albany, Patricia retired from the Office of Mental Health after many years as a clerical supervisor.

A woman with strong faith and religious conviction, she was a communicant of Historic St. Mary’s Church on Capital Hill in Albany. Patricia was also an active member of the Capital Region Ostomy Association and the American Italian Heritage Museum.

Never one to sit idle, Patricia volunteered as an ambassador and ushered at the Vanguard Showhouse, Capital Repertory Theatre and NYS Theatre Institute.  She was also a teacher’s assistant at Bell Top School.

She enjoyed trips to the Bahamas and Hawaii with Richie and friends. Following retirement Patricia spent many winters in Florida and a trip of a lifetime to Italy. The last decades of her life were filled with summer days listening to live music and with her family on Kinderhook Lake. She loved taking bus trips with the senior center, going to the movies and watching live theater and ballet. Nothing made her smile more than watching her great-grandsons laugh and play.

In October of 1954 Pat was united in marriage to Richard J. Fitzpatrick who predeceased her in 1975. She was also predeceased by her brother Thomas Bucci in 1979 and sister-in-law Elizabeth Kurtik in 2021.

Treasuring their memories together are her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Cheryl Fitzpatrick III; her cherished grandchildren, Richard J. Fitzpatrick IV and Laura (Austin) Putnam and two great-grandchildren, Odin Richard and Soren Carter Putnam; her sister, Rosemary (Dennis) Kemper; her brother-in-law Edward Kurtik; nieces and nephews: Valerie (David) Draper, David (Elizabeth) Kemper;  Stephanie (Daniel) Fajardo,  Lisa Marie Bucci and Aaron Bucci; Eileen (Thomas) DePaula, Maryann (Tony) Chiffolo, Michael (Aey) Kurtik, David Kurtik; and several cousins, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cherished friends.
