Obituary

Cobleskill- Margaret “Peg” E. Lohret, 87, formerly of High St. and Lincoln Ave., Cobleskill, died Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at the Teresian House surrounded by her loving family.

Born March 5, 1935, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Frederick and Lillian (Haight) Fuss.

After receiving her master’s degree, Peg was a medical secretary for the Visiting Nurses of Schenectady where she retired following many years of service. 

She married John “Jack” Lohret on April 28, 1956, at St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls.

They raised their family in Cobleskill, where they resided for over 50 years.  Peg was active in the community as a member of the country club and other organizations, along with being a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

She was the beloved wife of John L. Lohret; devoted mother to Christopher John (Kim) Lohret of Delanson, Timothy Andrew (Stephanie)Lohret of Niskayuna and Susan Elizabeth Lohret of Brewerton; doting grandmother to Nicholas John Lohret of Liverpool, Jessica Margaret Lohret of CT, Katherine Elizabeth Lohret of VA, Rylie Elizabeth Lohret and Owen Christopher Lohret both of Delanson.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at St. Vincent de Paul Chatholic Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill. Rev. Joseph Arockiasamy will be the celebrant.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, NY.

Memorial contributions in Peg’s name may be made to Catholic Charities of Schoharie County.
