Cobleskill- Kayla I. Winnie, 27, formerly of Cobleskill died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Ellis Hospital following ongoing health issues.
Born October 4, 1993 in Cooperstown, she was the daughter of Sherri (Proctor) Winnie and Laverne Winnie. Kayla graduated from Sharon Springs Central School, class of 2011. She continued her education at Schenectady Community College, earning an associate degree in Culinary Arts as well as one in Business Administration. For the past several years, she worked as a customer service representative in the call center for Spectrum.
She had a giving, selfless personality always trying to help those less fortunate. Kayla could be found purchasing needed items and then delivering those to the City Mission in Schenectady. Her friends were grateful for the shadow boxes she would make them when someone close to them had passed. Kayla appreciated the many tattoos she had.
Forever cherishing her memories are her mother, Sherri (Proctor) Winnie, her father, Laverne Winnie Jr., her maternal grandfather, Allen Proctor, along with her many family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 1PM to 3PM at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. Face covering and social distancing will be respected by all in attendance.
