Richmondville- John H. Miller, 87, of State Route 7, died Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Cobleskill Regional Hospital following months of declining health.
Born January 23, 1934, in Gilboa, he was the son of Bruce and May (Rosecran) Miller. John was a graduate of Middleburgh Central School and then enlisted in the United States Army. He proudly served his country from 1953 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1955.
Following his military discharge, John married Joyce E. Hotaling on Nov. 10, 1956, in the Middleburgh United Methodist Church. He was employed at General Electric in Schenectady as a plumber for many years.
John was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching football, both college and professional, along with basketball. A fisherman and hunter, John was an outdoorsman.
Forever cherishing his memories are his wife, Joyce Miller, daughter, Sandy (Kip) Pangman of Middleburgh, granddaughter, Katie (Joey) Pangman-Ventura of Middleburgh and great-granddaughter, Olivia as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family extends their gratitude to Helios Care for the wonderful care of John.
Private services will be held at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with burial following in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
