Cobleskill- Jo-Ann M. Corsall, 76, of Sycamore Lane died on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital following a brief illness.
Born October 29, 1945 in Cobleskill, she was the daughter of Joseph and Ruth (Kelso) Corsall and was a lifelong area resident.
Following graduation from the former Cobleskill Central School, she worked in Albany at the NYS School Boards Association. She came back to Cobleskill and worked for American Finance. She later transferred to Saratoga and worked for Security Pacific in Saratoga and Utica. Jo-Ann moved back to Cobleskill and was co-owner of Leeders Video with her brother, Joe, for several years. She retired after 19 years as Office Manager of the Cobleskill Agricultural Society.
Jo-Ann was an independent and kind person, always willing to help someone in need, which she did many times. She enjoyed outings with her family, playing cards with her friends and going to County and State fairs. Her favorite trips were to Ogunquit, Maine and Myrtle Beach, SC. She also traveled to Las Vegas and in the early 90’s joined a tour with friends, Karen and Fred Brueck to Kenya Africa. Her lifelong dream became fulfilled there as she was able to see elephants in the wild on the safari ride.
Jo-Ann volunteered at the Schoharie County Sunshine Fair, the annual FAM Fun Run, and the Gathering Place for Seniors in Cobleskill.
Survivors include her siblings: Mary Anne Corsall, Joseph (Noreen) Corsall, Richard (Barbara) Corsall all of Cobleskill; niece, Courtney (John) LaBarge of Cobleskill; nephew, Thomas (Jessica) Corsall of Virginia; grandnephews: Ty and Cooper La Barge of Cobleskill, Trey, Evan and Wyatt Corsall of Virginia; and cousins: Bernice (Tom) Dawson of Cobleskill, Phyllis (Mel) Goodearl of Florida, Donna Smith of Florida, and Patti (Richard) Shultes of Middleburgh.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at 1PM on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Rev. Catherine Perrotti officiating. All are welcome to a period of visitation to be held prior to the service, from 12PM to 1PM at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
The family requests that masks be worn for all attendees.
