Ellen was an instrumental music teacher in Canastota and Schenevus public schools, then taught private piano lessons in her home for many years.  She was the owner/operator of Drumlin Sheep Shoppe.

Ellen enjoyed knitting; playing piano, organ, and violin; and keeping in touch with family and friends through phone, text, and emails.  She had kept a daily diary since 1936 and would often consult it to help her family recall details from past events. She loved to travel, research genealogy, and drive the “cane gang” to local events. A favorite pastime was feeding and watching the birds in her backyard.

She married John Edgar Leverett on June 24, 1951.  She is predeceased by John (March 24, 2010) and their infant son, John William Leverett (May 10, 1954).
