Richmondville- Douglas L. Fortin, 61, of State Route 7, died at his residence on Thursday, September 23, 2021.
Born on October 26, 1959, in Cobleskill, he was the son of the late Leonard and Alice (Jean Madden) Fortin.
For several years Doug was employed at J&M Garage in Richmondville as a mechanic. He had a passion for cars, particularly hot rods and lifted, loud trucks. His thrill was taking them off road. Doug loved working on and driving his Camaro.
Survivors include his daughter, Kayla (Chuck) Lee of Medusa; four grandsons: Charles Lee, Landen Croote, Wyatt Lee, and Wesley Lee; two brothers: Robert Fortin of Cobleskill and Patrick Fortin of Virginia and his faithful companion, Gemma. He was predeceased by his sister, Tina Meyers.
Doug’s family will hold a private celebration of his life. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
