Cobleskill – Dora “June” Biggs, 81, of Settles Mountain Road, died Wednesday January 27 in the comfort of her own home with her loving family by her side.
June was born on March 3, 1939 in Lyndhurst, NJ and was the daughter of Hugho and Olga (Jennie) Buchel. She is predeceased by her brothers; Joe and Kenneth Buchel.
June was a longtime resident of Cobleskill and she loved being part of this community. She touched so many people’s lives whether she was serving you a burger at Fernando’s, fluffing your laundry at the Laundry Basket, making you a kissing ball or wreath for Christmas, chit chatting in the bread aisle or sewing a patch on your pants.
She was always a jokester and had the great gift of gab. She could strike up a conversation with anyone and had a way of making complete strangers feel like old friends. She was a true mother nature at heart. She had a green thumb, enjoyed gardening and could make anything grow. She loved being surrounded by animals, most of all her chickens and dogs.
She was the matriarch of a large extended family and is survived by her husband, James Biggs; her five children: Gerald Santoro, Donna (Santoro) Bartholomew, Daniel Santoro, Christa (Santoro) Russo and Michael Biggs. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren; Kira, Andrew, Hanna, Molly, Kathryn, Jacqueline, Jenna, Lauren, Julia and Scarlett, and her ten great-grandchildren.
