Cobleskill- Yvonne L. Blodgett, 76, of Settles Mountain Road, died Friday, December 22, 2023 at home with her family by her side. Born February 1, 1947 in Cobleskill, she was the daughter of Chauncey and Ethel (Diamond) Cooper.
Yvonne was a lifelong area resident and retired from SUNY Cobleskill's maintenance department after many years of employment.
She loved family gatherings, outdoor adventures, going for rides on the back roads, casino trips, and watching birds in her backyard. Yvonne loved to laugh and was best known for her witty and spontaneous sense of humor.
She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Blodgett in 2004 and her siblings: Eugene, Marlin "Mic", George, Chet, Wayne and Madeline Cooper.
Forever cherishing her memory are her stepdaughters, Cindy Soto ( Angel ) of Tomball, TX, Carol Blodgett of Cobleskill and Cheryl Blodgett ( Lisa) of Mechanicville; grandchildren: Michael Soto of Houston, TX, Anita Wood of Tomball, TX, Callie O'Herin of Clifton Park, NY, Dustin O'Herin of Central Bridge, NY, and Rachel Scott ( Jon ) of Ballston Spa, NY; 6 great-grandchildren; her brother, Greg Cooper ( Mary ) of Schenevus, NY; two sisters-in-law: Mary Cooper and Wanda Cooper; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with a period of visitation to be held prior, from 12PM to 1PM. Officiating will be Rev. David Houck of the Christian Community Church of Faith in Richmondville. Burial will be in Central Bridge Cemetery.
