Born on November 2, 1929 in Warnerville, NY, she was the daughter of Melvin Mickle and Marjorie Ottman Mickle.
Mrs. Petersen was a hostess for McDonald's in Cobleskill in addition to being a mother and homemaker.
She was an active member of Warnerville United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Henry "Pete" Petersen predeceased her on August 18, 2009. Her brother, Arnold Mickle; grandson, Eric Smith; and sister-in-law, Jeannette (Gerald's wife) also predeceased her.
She is survived by her children, Richard (Susan) Petersen of Warnerville, NY, Cheryl (Marshal) Smith of Quakertown, PA, James (Shirley) Petersen of Warnerville, NY; grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer) Petersen, Jonathan (Heather) Smith , Stephen (Nicole) Smith, Amanda Petersen; step-granddaughter, Erica Larkin; great-grandsons, Nicholas Petersen and Clark Smith; brother, Gerald Mickle of Warnerville, NY; sister-in-law, Joyce Mickle (Arnold's wife).
In accordance with the family's wishes there will be no formal services.
