William Taylor
Sharon Springs- William J. Taylor, 74, of Slate Hill Road, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born June 8, 1943 in Schenectady, he was the son of William and Jane (Kryszewska) Taylor.
Bill graduated from Amsterdam High School and then joined the United States Army in 1962 and received an honorable discharge from the National Guard in 1965.
He was employed at General Electric in Schenectady for many years and then later as a supervisor for Kintz Plastics in Howes Cave, retiring in 2007.
An avid animal lover and one who continually supported various animal organizations, Bill is survived by his three precious cats: Lucy, Boots, and Josie.
Bill married Deborah Entelisano on June 30, 1979, who survives him along with their two children: Michelle Taylor (Bryan) Monty of Rotterdam and William M. Taylor of Sharon Springs. A son, Christopher Taylor, predeceased him on June 27, 1989.
Private services will be held at the family's convenience. Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley, Inc., PO Box 40, Howes Cave, NY 12092.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
