William Pope

Cobleskill- William Patrick John Pope, 58, of Iroquois Drive died from natural causes on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at his residence.

Born May 10, 1959 in the Bronx, Billy was raised in the Saranac Lake area. He was a 1978 graduate of Saranac High School. An avid Star Trek follower, he was known to friends as Dr. Spock. Billy had a love for music and had an incredible memory.

Family that survives him are his parents: William J. and Beverly (Gehrig) Pope of Cobleskill; his two sisters: Deborah (Carl) Butler of Ballston Spa and Theresa (Joel) Church of Delanson; and his nephews and niece: John Butler, Jennifer Rogers, Adam Butler, Matthew Church and Christian Church.

Family will have a private service at their convenience. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 7 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
