William Nettleton

North Blenheim- William E. Nettleton, 79, of State Route 30, died Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Hospice Inn at St. Peters Hospital in Albany, NY.

Born November 14, 1936 in Sheffield, MA, he was the son of Ralph and Edith (Martin) Nettleton.
Bill attended college in Albany and then joined the United States Air Force, proudly serving from 1955 until receiving an honorable discharge as Staff Sargent in 1968.

Bill retired in 1996 from the U.S. Postal Service as a weighmaster. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in North Blenheim.

Bill was an avid reader, particularly Louis L'Amour, enjoyed being with his family, woodworking, helping people in his community, and dancing every weekend. Bill also enjoyed visiting Las Vegas.

Survivors include his wife, Cecile Nettleton of North Blenheim, whom he has been with since 1986; his children: Lara Nettleton of Beaumont, CA, Jerry Nettleton of North Blenheim, Brian Nettleton of Albany, Kevin Nettleton of Washington; Step-children: Debra Waters of Breakabeen, Phyllis Rexroat of Lake Havasu, AZ, Rene Peck of Fort Plain, John (Lucy) Chekovsky of Southwick, MA, Kenneth Peck of York, PA; two brothers: Reuben (Agnes) Nettleton of Idaho and Robert Nettleton of CA; ten grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two unborn great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at United Methodist Church, State Route 30, North Blenheim with military honors. Officiating will be Rev. Neil Irwin. There will be no calling hours and inurnment will be private in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
