Middleburgh: William C. Neiles, 70, formerly of Middleburgh, died Monday, February 4, 2013 at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta, following a brief illness.
Bill was born on October 24, 1942, in Schenectady to the late Rita (Reynolds) and William N. Neiles.
Bill's life-long passion was singing, affectionately calling himself the "Schoharie County Troubadour." Bill was a member of the Depot Lane Singers and the Middleburgh Golden Age Club. In appreciation of their sacrifice, Bill was proud to place American flags on soldiers' graves on National holidays.
He worked for several years at Becker Electronics before transferring to McCarthy Ford in Cobleskill. Bill was a communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Middleburgh.
He is survived by his son: Aaron Neiles of Worcester; his sister: Adrienne (Howard) Bartholomew of Middleburgh; many nieces and nephews; life-long and dear friend: Christine Mann of Cobleskill and many friends and extended family at Mrs. K's Kitchen in Middleburgh.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh. Cremation took place at Vale Crematory, Schenectady. A spring inurnment will be in the Middleburgh Cemetery.
