MIDDLEBURGH- William "Dave" D. Henry, 78, of Sunnyside Road, died Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Henry was born October 8, 1930, in Northvale, NJ and was the son of Thomas G. and Emily R. (Patterson) Henry.
He was a 1948 graduate of Roxbury High School in Roxbury, NJ and was a United States Navy Veteran serving from 1949 to 1950. He retired from Schoharie County as Head Dispatcher for the Sheriff's Department and was also the proprietor Flander's Research Farms in Sharon Springs, NY. He was an avid reader, boater and fisherman, but always loved to spend time with family and friends.
He was predeceased by a Granddaughter, Emilie Benac who died in 1999, a sister, Ruth Henry and a brother, Thomas Henry, Jr.
Mr. Henry is survived by his wife, Therese Cooper Henry, whom he married on October 18, 1952, two daughters, Kathleen (Paul Girsdansky) Henry of Cobleskill, Barbara (Rod) Perry of Cherry Valley, one son, Kevin (Madeline) Henry of Central Bridge, eight Grandchildren, Matthew (Amber) Benac, Gwendolyn Girsdansky, Roderick (Ashley) Perry, Caitlyn Perry, Molly (Joseph All) Perry, Ryan Henry, Erin (Mark Peek) Henry, Brandon Henry, and 3 Great Grandchildren, Timothy Benac, Kaleb Benac, and Braeden All, one sister, Margaretta Jarvis of Edmeston, NY and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, November 14, 2008 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Main Street, Middleburgh, NY with Rev. Thomas F. Holmes as celebrant. Friends may call from 6-8 pm on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
