Cobleskill- Mr. William G. Churchill, 93, of Barnerville Road, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 28, 2008 at his residence.
Mr. Churchill was born September 5, 1914 in Jefferson, NY, the son of George and Mary (Lamb) Churchill.
He owned and operated a dairy and maple farm in Jefferson for 32 years. Mr. Churchill retired from United Real Estate of Summit, NJ where he was a broker.
He was a member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church.
He married Marion Briggs on March 14, 1936 and she predeceased him on Aug. 2, 2005. For many years they spent the winters in Kissimmee, FL. at Good Samaritan Village.
Survivors include his children: Joan and Jerry Diamond of Cobleskill, and Richard and Rosalie Churchill of Catskill; 6 grandchildren: Kathy Diamond, William (Jo-Ann) Diamond, Eric Diamond, Randy (Janis) Churchill, Laura Churchill (James Hutchins), and Brad (Tracy) Churchill; and 15 great-grandchildren: Zak and Ali Brayton, Carly and Sylvi Diamond, Trevor and Hanna Diamond, Sam and Clara Churchill, Alex, Zoe, and Charlotte Hutchins, William and Anna Churchill, and Caleb and Avery Detamore
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 1, 2008 at the Jefferson United Methodist Church with the Rev. William St. John officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Evergreen Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
