CARLISLE: Willard L. Almy, Jr., 70, of Little York Rd., died Tuesday, February 12, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.
Mr. Almy was born February 26, 1937 in Cobleskill, NY and was the son of Willard L. and Madeline (Kilts) Almy, Sr.
He was a local dairy farmer for many years until joining the Laborers Union Local # 157 in Albany, NY and worked there until his retirement in 1999. For the last 5 years, he has been a staunch supporter of the CRCS Basketball program which his grandson participates in and yearned to attend all games.
Mr. Almy is survived by two daughters; Terri (Bret) Hallenbeck of Toland, CT, Tammy Kane of Cobleskill, 4 sons; Jeffrey Almy of Richmondville, Michael Almy of Schenectady, NY, Keith (Shannon) Almy of Sharon Springs, NY, Christopher (Abigail Goularte) Almy of Cobleskill, 2 sisters; Jeannette Mickle of Warnerville, Linda Mildfeldt of Elwood, KS, 5 Grandchildren; Jessica, Justin, and Drew Hallenbeck, Joshua Lindsay and Liam Kane, and 1 Great Grandson; Cameron Hallenbeck
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday evening, February 15, at 7 pm at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St, Cobleskill, NY. Rev. Marvin Batcher, of the Warnerville United Methodist Church,- will be officiating. Calling hours will held from 5-7 pm Friday prior to the Funeral Service.
Burial will be in Slate Hill Cemetery at a later date.
