Cobleskill- Warren W. Proper, 91, of Turkey Trot, died Saturday, March 12, 2022, at home while under the care of his longtime partner, Bonnie Cronk.
Born December 21, 1930, in Summit, he was the son of Dwight J. and Delia C. (Shafer) Proper.
Warren married Vivian Cole on October 13, 1950, and together they raised their three children. She predeceased him on August 9, 2003. He retired from SUNY Cobleskill where he was a farm manager for many years and served as president of the CSEA union.
He enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, and reading in his leisure. Visiting the national parks and traveling throughout the United States and parts of Europe were other pleasurable times for him. Warren attended the Christian Church of Charleston Four Corners and the Sunrise Bible Church in Rotterdam.
Treasuring their memories are his children: Christine D. Michel (Frank Medina) of Colonie, Ross W. Proper of Cobleskill and Dean C. Proper (Michael Luna) of Atlantic City, NJ; his partner, Bonnie D. Cronk of Cobleskill; two granddaughters: Melissa L. (Steven) Wick of Cobleskill and Casey E. (Joseph) Galli of Cobleskill; great-grandson, Jonathan D. Wick of Cobleskill and two great-granddaughters: Pixie R. and Klover F. Galli of Cobleskill.
A graveside service will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Jefferson, NY on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. A reception will be held at the Bull's Head Inn in Cobleskill, NY immediately following the service. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
