Cobleskill- Walter C. Beacraft, 83, of Mohawk Drive, died Friday, June 17, 2016 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital.
Born October 7, 1932 in Cobleskill, he was the son of Palmer and Sarah (Slater) Beacraft.
Walter was a United States Air Force veteran, proudly serving his country during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1955.
Walter retired from Apollo Heating and Cooling in Schenectady, where he was a technician. He had worked for Roland J. Downs, prior to that.
Walter was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing.
He was predeceased by four siblings: Arthur Beacraft, Sr., Jennie Walker, Thelma Jackson, and Beverly Beacraft.
Survivors include his wife: Patricia (Luskin) Beacraft, whom he married Nov. 3, 1962; four daughters: Rose (David) Hall, Robin (Dana) Joslin, Regina (Rodney) Leach, and Rebecca (Scott) Palmer; two daughters by a previous marriage: Patricia Lynn Beacraft and Debra Beacraft; his siblings: Palmer Beacraft, Leslie Beacraft, and Carrie Stone; six grandchildren: Joshua Hall, Brandi Hall, Jiles Joslin, Destinee Joslin, Justin Leach, and Brandon Palmer; a great-granddaughter: Breanna Hall; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Lawyersville Reformed Church, 4957 State Route 145, Cobleskill, with Rev. Paul Ferenczy officiating. Private inurnment will take place at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
