Carlisle- Vivian E. Matranga, 84, of Highway Route 20, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.
Born September 25, 1928 in Evington, VA, she was the daughter of John and Nettie (Chatman) Harless.
Vivian lived in Brooklyn for many years and moved to Cobleskill fifteen years ago. For the past three years she has resided with her daughter in Carlisle.
A homemaker all her life, she enjoyed reading in her leisure time.
Vivian was predeceased by her husband, Frederick; a daughter: Teresa A. Rothenberg; and a son, Charles Leonard Nunley.
She is survived by a daughter: Sherry Farace of Carlisle and her sister, Doris Ffrench of Bronx.
There will be no calling hours or funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, 1201 Stratford Road, Schenectady, NY 12308.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill and Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh.
