Virginia M. Terk

Cobleskill-Virginia M. Terk, 89, of Cobleskill passed away November 25, 2022 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born June 12, 1933 in Topeka, KS, she was the daughter of Arthur and Grace (VanDorp) Schoenfeld.
She married Harrison Terk on April 5, 1952 in Topeka and moved to Cobleskill in 1954 after living in Savannah while her husband was stationed in the Air Force.
Virginia was employed as a secretary for the former Cobleskill Central School before retiring to raise her daughters. Later she worked in the office of the Cobleskill Agriculture Society seasonably.
She was an avid seamstress and supported her family for many years in their horse showing endeavors.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Harrison W. Terk; her daughters, Kelly Alexander of Trenton, FL and Kristie Terk of East Syracuse; 2 grandchildren, Richard (Jordan) Gelber of Cobb, GA and Julie (Faustino) Osorio of Chiefland, FL; 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held from 11AM to 12PM on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill where a memorial service will commence at noon. John Jarvis will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barnerville United Methodist Church or the Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley, Inc., PO Box 40, Howes Cave, NY 12092.
Arrangements are entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, NY.
