Virginia Patterson

Cobleskill- Virginia R. Patterson, 88, formerly of Hammerstone Village Apartments, died Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home in Stamford where she had been a resident for several years.

Born July 6, 1921 in Jefferson, NY, she was a daughter of Harold B. and Cora (Fancher) Ruland. Virginia was raised in Jefferson and was a graduate of the Jefferson Central School.

She and her husband, Robert, lived in Clarksville, where she was a school secretary, and then later moved to Northville.

Virginia moved to Cobleskill in the late 1980's where she was a hostess at Burger King.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Patterson, a son, George Patterson, sister, Dorothy Anderson, and two brothers, William and Walter Ruland.

Survivors include five nieces: Elsa VanVliet of Warnerville, Linda Zoll of Cobleskill, Lorraine Bendlin of Torino, Italy, Virginia deWolf of Tallahassee, FL, and Gloria Hill of Jefferson; one nephew: George Ruland of Oneonta; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services will be privately held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Jefferson, NY.
