Stamford, N.Y.: Victor E. Foland, 90, formerly of Breakabeen, NY, died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Robinson Terrace, following a long illness.
Victor was born on January 1, 1920 in the Town of Fulton, NY, a son of the late Edna (Briggs) and William A. Foland.
Victor graduated from the Middleburgh Central School as Valedictorian of his class, in 1935, at the age of 15. He was a self employed dairy farmer all of his life. Victor enjoyed gardening, especially growing potatoes and he was a member of the Breakabeen Presbyterian Church.
Victor was predeceased by his wife: Lorraine (White) Foland on February 3, 2006, his sister: Edith Buzon and his brothers: William Foland, Robert Foland and Willard Foland.
Victor is survived by his daughters: Carole (Henry) Haslun of Middleburgh, NY, Marietta (Dan) DeLaet of Breakabeen, NY; his sons: Victor C. "Neal" (Lou) Foland of Ravenna, NE, Martin (Myra) Foland of Hobart, NY, Jonathan Foland of Middleburgh, NY, his sister: Shirley Rhinehart of the Town of Fulton, NY; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
Services will be held privately, at the convenience of the family. Cremation took place at the Vale Crematory in Schenectady, N.Y.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, 795 East Main St., Suite 11, Cobleskill, NY 12043
Arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh and Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
