Verna Persons

Richmondville- Verna F. Persons, 63, of Ford Hill , died Tuesday, October 18, 2011 following a long battle with cancer.

Born November 13, 1947 in Cortland, NY, she was the daughter of Arthur and June (Tupel) Freelove.

Survivors include her husband, Michael G. Persons, whom she married October 22, 1983; two children: Alison Younes of Cortland and Todd (Sara) DelMarter of Richmondville; her three step-children: Michael J. (Jennifer) Persons of Cobleskill, Michele Schmidt of Rotterdam, and Jacquelyn (Ron) Gaige of Esperance; her parents: Arthur and June Freelove of Cortland; granddaughter Kaitlin Younes of Ithaca; three step-grandchildren: Garrett Persons of Cobleskill, Taryn Schmidt and Kyleigh Schmidt, both of Rotterdam; and two sisters: Judy (Harlow Nash) Crockford and Julie (Walter) Baschnagel of Ithaca.

There will be no funeral service or calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Marathon For a Better Life, PO Box 268, Warnerville, NY 12187
