Valerie Haslun

Cobleskill- Valerie L. Haslun, 77, of North Street, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at her residence with her family at her side.

Born August 12, 1935 in Harpersfield, NY, she was a daughter of Thomas and Florence (Dibble) Terk.

Valerie was raised in the Cobleskill area and upon retirement she moved back to this area in 1982. She was a batch operator for Manning Paper Mill in Green Island.

Valerie enjoyed racing cars in Fonda and riding motorcycles. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her son: Robert (LeAnn) Bradt of Cobleskill; her daughter: Rhonda (Thomas) Tomassie in Cobleskill; her step-son: Gary Bradt of Kingsville, TX; two brothers: Harrison (Virginia) Terk of Cobleskill and Peter Terk of Cobleskill; her three grandchildren: Angela Tomassie of Cobleskill, Christina and Brooklyn Bradt of Cobleskill; and two great-grandchildren: Hayden and Aleana Johnson.

She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Raymond Terk.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Main St., Cobleskill with Rev. Sara Litzner officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the church prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Cremation will follow the service at Vale Crematory.
