Trudy Jones

Cobleskill- Trudy A. Jones, 59, of West Main St., died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in the comfort of her home after a courageous battle with ALS.

She was born August 16, 1960 in Los Angeles, CA. Trudy always spoke fondly of California, especially Big Sur. Trudy was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Marie Hoekman.

Trudy had a passion for life. She loved to travel the world. Her children, Tyler “Ty” Jones, and Sarah Jones were her pride and joy. Trudy was a home healthcare provider for three years. During that time Trudy loved and cared for clients like they were her own family.   She loved to sew with her friend Adrienne. She also enjoyed walking with her dog, Emma, with Tracey and “the walking club.” She enjoyed taking photos and scrap booking and visiting Lake George with friends and family.

Cherishing her memories are her dear friends, Laura and Anna Stone of Cobleskill; her children:  Tyler Jones of Cobleskill and Sarah Jones of Reidsville, NC, and sister Cathy Lockwood of SC. Trudy had a very special relationship with her twin sister, Joanie Baskas of Reidsville, NC. Even though they were separated by many miles they were always texting, facetiming, and laughing. Trudy was lovingly cared for by her friends and aides Bert Shrader and Amanda Sword. Trudy is survived by many other friends in Ca, NC, and NY.

Trudy’s family would like to thank Dr Burton and the nurses at Cobleskill Primary Care, her ALS case manager Trish, Dr.  Miller of St Peter’s ALS Center, her driver Mike and the nurses of the AMC Infusion Center. You all brought peace and joy during Trudy’s battle.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1PM on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, where friends are welcome at 12:30PM to visit prior to the eulogy.  All are welcome to join us at Fusion Church for refreshments.
