Middleburgh- Tracy L. Hayes, 45, known lovingly to her family and friends as "Kiki" and "Gomer", died Thursday, March 24, 2011 at her home. Her beloved husband of twenty one years, Roland "Choo" Hayes was at her side and helped with her care, until the end of her illness.
Tracy was born in Cobleskill, N.Y. on June 13, 1965. She attended Middleburgh Central School and went on to acquire an Associate's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She used her education to the benefit of many employers including ARC, Mountain View Manor, Scotia Baptist Retirement Center. Most recently she worked at the Schoharie County Department of Social Services as a Case Worker, working with families and their children.
Tracy was also a Personal Care Aide, a Home Health Aide, a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Licensed Realtor. She received her certification as a tax preparer to provide free tax assistance to the community through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Tracy was also trained as a Domestic Violence Liaison.
Tracy is survived by her husband, Roland "Choo" Hayes of Middleburgh, and step-daughters: Michele (Darin) Zauner of Florida and Babette (Mark) Beckley of Florida; grandchildren: Amanda (Austin) Akey, Mariah and Gabby Capone, DJ (Paige) Zauner and Zeke and Annie Zauner.
To the beloved family she built, she leaves these sentiments: To her husband, "Choo" Hayes: "The circle of our love was completed by you being my best friend."; to Joy and Fred Nicholson and family (of Schoharie): "All of the memories that we made are what made us family."; to Janet and Randy Simeon (of Middleburgh): "Who gave me more than they thought."; to Shannon and Scott Van Kuren (of Middleburgh): "May you know the memories of the bumps in the road will all flatten at one time." and to Mema and Pepa MacMillan (of Middleburgh): "You layed the footsteps for the path I took in life."
Tracy was predeceased by her father: John Fred Daring, Jr. and her brother: Todd J. Daring.
She leaves behind her biological family; mother: Rose Daring of Florida; a sister: Christina (Michael) Boehler of Sharon Springs; two brothers: Donald (Linda) Daring of Florida and John Daring, III of Middleburgh and several nieces and nephews.
Tracy's family would like to thank Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care for their assistance and care in easing her final weeks.
In death, as in life, Tracy will continue to help others. She donated her body to study and research through the Albany Medical College's Anatomical Gift Program.
To honor Tracy's wishes, there will be no formal services.
