Timothy Hallock

Gilboa - Timothy "Tim" Hallock, 53, of Flat Creek Road, passed away at home on Loyal Maples Farm, Monday, November 21, 2011 surrounded by his loving family.

Tim was born January 15, 1958 in Margaretville, the son of Anne Hallock and the late Carlton George Hallock, also of Loyal Maples Farm.

He was a 1976 graduate of Gilboa-Conesville Central School and a 1978 graduate of Cobleskill Agricultural & Technical College. He married Luann Becker October 4, 1997, with whom he had three sons, Bryan George (11), Casey Daniel (9) and Ethan Kenneth (7). Tim was a life-long dairy farmer and had registered Holsteins with his father until the late 1980s. Later, Tim primarily farmed hay and beef cows, and he extended his agricultural interests to llamas and honey. Tim was also employed by Ski Windham as a ski patroller since 1989 and was a co-owner of Platterkill Sand & Gravel, Inc., with his brothers, David and C.Thomas Hallock.

In addition to his love of skiing, Tim's love of nature and the outdoors also included hiking, ice and rock climbing, biking, and winter camping. Tim was known for his adventurous trips to hike in Peru and the Grand Canyon, to go helicopter skiing in British Columbia, and bike crosscountry with his wife, Luann. He had dreams to bike across the United States with his wife and children. His sons and nieces fondly remember their many trips to New Paltz with Tim and his friends to learn the art of rock climbing. Tim captured his adventures in nature through his passion for photography.

Tim is survived by his mother, Anne, his wife, Luann, and their three sons. He also leaves two brothers and their families: David and Patrice Hallock of Gilboa; their daughters, Denise (Hallock) Gray and family, Laconia, NH; Stephanie (Hallock) Bruck and family, Johnstown, NY; Taye Hallock, Catherine Hallock and C. Thomas Hallock and Jacqueline Roy of Plattsburgh. He also leaves three dear cousins and their families who share his love of farming: Alicia (Hallock) and Bill Terry (and son, William Terry, deceased 2008); Polly Hallock; and Heidi (Hallock) and David Pickett and sons, all of Gilboa.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Flat Creek Baptist Church, Flat Creek Rd., Gilboa, with Rev. Jason Thompson officiating.
