RIchmondville- Tillie G. ReSue, 88, of State Route 7, died Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at her residence following a brief illness.
Born in Worcester, NY on August 24, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mina (Morrell) Burton. Tillie was raised in Worcester and graduated from Worcester Central School.
Her working career began at the Richmondville Glove Factory and then she went on to be a nurse's aid at Cobleskill Regional Hospital. Moving to Florida, Tillie worked briefly at Disney World, but decided to move back to her home area. Tillie retired in 1996 from SUNY Cobleskill where she was a laborer for several years.
She was a member of the Richmondville United Methodist Church.
She married David Wayman, Sr. on Sept. 2, 1951 and they had four children. David predeceased her in 1968 and she remarried to Lawrence ReSue on March 3, 1974 and he died in 2007.
Survivors include her four children: Nancy (Steve) Mattice of Roxbury, NY, Joyce (Ed) Brewer of La Palta, MD, David Wayman, Jr. of Richmondville and Jeff (Yvette) Wayman of Fultonville, NY; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill where a period of visitation will take place prior to the service, from 10AM to 11AM. Officiating will be Rev. Russell Underwood. Burial will be in Richmondville Rural Cemetery.
