Thomas Frampton

Richmondville-Thomas N. Frampton, 76, left us on Sunday, August 2, 2020 to be with the Lord.

He was the fourth son of Howard and Alice (Hall) Frampton born in Babylon, New York on October 16, 1943.  He attended Babylon School and graduated June of 1961.  He then joined the Army and proudly served from 1963 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1965.  Following his service he became a service tech along with his brother, Howard.  They started their own business and did sub-contracting for various oil companies, one of them being Long Island Reliable in Lindenhurst, NY and finally Perillo Bros. in Farmingdale, NY , where Howard was manager of the service department and Tom was Service Manager.

In 1987 Tom moved to Worcester, NY staying in the same field, he worked for Berard & Simmons, Buhrmaster and Suburban Propane, and his final job before retirement , Cobleskill Plumbing and Heating in Worcester, NY.  He loved the great outdoors, walking in the woods on his property in Worcester, and just admiring all of God’s creations along the way.

There really was not an animal that he did not try to befriend.  Tom was a noticeably quiet person, much to himself, a deep thinker, and an exceptionally good listener, and always there to help someone in need.

He was predeceased by all his siblings: Howard, Bob, and Jimmy.

Tom is survived by his wife, Sandy; his daughters: Wendi (Mike) Scheck of Ball Ground< GA and Christina Frampton-Basso (James Cartier) of Guilderland, NY; sons: Shawn Frampton of Endicott, NY and Isaac Frampton of Ball Ground, GA; sister-in-law, Norma Frampton of East Islip, NY, Aunt Nancy Harrison of Michigan, and cousin Paul (Donna) Larsen of Kissimmee, FL, as well as his grandchildren:  Ashlyn Hill, Emily Basso, Jordin, Devin, and Hudson Scheck and Madison Frampton along with many nieces and nephews.

All of us will greatly miss him, but he will forever remain in our hearts.  As all his children said, “Ask Dad, he will listen and help you fix it”.  And they were right.  The family extends a Thank You to all the staff at Robinson Terrace and at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown and doctors who helped us get through the difficult times and choices we had to make along the way.

Tom also had 2 canine pals, which when he got sick at home, never left his side.  They too wonder what happened.  They are Barty the Beagle and Gidgi the cocker spaniel.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association, 418 Broadway, Albany, NY 12207, or Alzheimer’s Assoc., 4 Pine West Plaza #405, Albany, NY 12205.

There will be no public service and per Tom’s request, he will be cremated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY  12043.
