Middleburgh, NY: Thomas M. Finneran, 89, of Squaw Trail, died Saturday, May 25, 2013 at his home.

Thomas was born on November 25, 1923 in Staten Island, to the late Hattie (Mehm) and Tom Finneran.

Thomas graduated from McKee High School before serving in the United States Navy during World War II. Thomas lived in Staten Island and worked as an electrician for the New York State Housing Authority, before retiring and moving to Middleburgh in 1987. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, gardening and collecting stamps. Thomas was a member of the Schenectady Stamp Club and the Middleburgh Golden Age Club. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.

Thomas was predeceased by his wife, Camille (Barletta) Finneran, whom he married on September 29, 1957 and his sisters: Theresa "Teddy" Porter, Rosemary Holler and Mickey Rehm.

He is survived by his daughters: Betty Finneran of North Greenbush, Doris (Peter) Rispoli of Rumford, ME, Joyce Finneran of Rensselaer and Linda (Steven) Nicholson of Schenectady; grandchildren: Amber Nicholson and Jourdyn Nicholson both of Schenectady, Gabriella O'Grady of Pottsville, PA, Michael (Shay) Roman and Joshua (Heather) Roman all of Ocala, FL.; great-grandson: Noah Roman of Ocala FL.
Thomas is also survived by his companion: Helen Nault of Troy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Main St. Middleburgh. Father William A. Gorman will be celebrant. Burial will follow in the Middleburgh Cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh.
