Richmondville- Theresa D. Vajda, 86, of Brooker Hollow Road, died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at her residence.
Born January 2, 1927 in Dumont, NJ, she was a daughter of Joseph and Mary (McCarroll) Conboy.
She and her husband moved to Richmondville in 1990. Terry enjoyed her family and friends and worked part time as a bookkeeper for the Worcester Market.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Worcester.
Survivors include her husband: William R. Vajda, whom she married June 23, 1979 in Demarest, NJ; her brother: Anthony (Ginny) Conboy of Lakewood, NJ; two sons: William Vajda of Worcester and Jeffrey C. Vajda, Sr. of Oneonta; three daughters: Kiki Tomek of Neptune, NJ, Dianne Vajda of Tinton Falls, NJ, and Doreen (Joseph) Maggio of Lehigh Acres, FL; four grandchildren: Jeffrey C. Vajda, Jr., Danielle Vajda, Jaimi Vajda, all of Oneonta, and Sarah Tomek of Nashville, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral liturgy will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Father Ron Green as celebrant. A period of visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday. Burial will follow the liturgy at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
