Cobleskill - Mrs. Theresa Hennelly Carbonneau, 84, of Lawyersville Road, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Highland Hospital in Rochester after a brief illness surrounded by her family.
Theresa was born on July 21, 1924 in Johnstown, NY and was the daughter of William and Sarah (Carney) Hennelly.
She graduated from Johnstown High School in 1941. Theresa married Gilles Carbonneau on July 2, 1949 and he predeceased her in 2004. She worked her entire adult life, while raising six children. Theresa retired from SUNY Cobleskill in 1988 after a long career as an administrative secretary.
Theresa's loving family survives her: Son, Jacques (Sandy) Carbonneau of Houston, TX; Daughters: Sarah (Jeffrey) Engler of Latham, Michelle (Gary) Tillapaugh of Sloansville; Kathryn (William) Averill of Cobleskill, Elisabeth (Richard) Vogel of Pittsford, and Andrea (Alan) Case of Watertown, SD. She was predeceased by a son, Pierre.
Eight grandchildren also survive her: Chantel Averill (Jason) Mrozik, Aimee (Joseph) Schlereth, Jason (Megan) Brown, Matthew and Daniel Vogel, Caitlin and Christopher Engler, and Alanna Case.
Theresa has four great-grandchildren: Elisa, Ava, and Jacob Mrozik and Madeline Shanahan Brown.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill. Celebrant will be Father Thomas H. Holmes. A graveside committal service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Cobleskill.
