Thelma Una (Proper) Joslyn passed away peacefully February 1, 2012. She had been a resident of the Guilderland Center Nursing Home for a number of years.
Thelma was born October 31, 1924 in Jefferson, NY. She was a resident of Schoharie County , NY for 48 years during which she married Nellis D. Joslyn and raised five children on the Joslyn dairy farm near Richmondville. After the children were all attending school, she was employed as a glove presser by the Ace Glove Factory in Richmondville.
Thelma and Nellis moved to Florida in 1972 and spent the next 27 years near Eustis, Fl. They returned to New York State in 2000, residing at their son, Lloyd's, home in Altamont. NY. Thelma's husband Nellis passed away in 2001.
Thelma is survived by her five children; Don, Lloyd, Vern (Karen) all of Greenville, SC, Karen (Paul Rodriguez) of Torrance, CA, and Keith (Traci) of Leesburg, FL.; her sister, Ruth (Gerald Cole) and brother, Warren, both of Cobleskill, NY. Thelma was blessed to have nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who she enjoyed greatly.
A funeral service will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, with the viewing from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM prior to the service led by Pastor Nancy Dulkis from the Richmondville United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, Thelma's children request that you send your donations to the Community Hospice of Albany County.
