Richmondville- Mrs. Thelma Mae Falzarano, 81, of Snyder Lane, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn following a brief illness.
Thelma was born October 18, 1927 in Cobleskill, the daughter of Edwin and Myrtle (Silvernail) Cain.
She was one of twelve children and had resided in this area all her life.
At the age of 15, Thelma went to work at General Electric in Schenectady and later was employed as a seamstress for Sarie Sue Dress Shop in Cobleskill. She was a homemaker all her life, and taking care of family was most important to her.
Thelma's hobbies included knitting, sewing, crocheting, baking specialty cakes, painting, games, and traveling to Turning Stone.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Lorenzo Falzarano, whom she married April 4, 1948; two daughters: Linda Karker of Cobleskill and Dawn Falzarano of Richmondville; three sons: Thomas Falzarano of Buffalo, and Claude Falzarano of Albany, and Michael Falzarano of Auckland, New Zealand; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and her sisters and brothers.
A private service will be held at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm Street Cobleskill. Private burial will be in Richmondville Rural Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
