Terry Scott

Cobleskill- Terry L. Scott, 71, passed away after a long illness on December 17, 2020 at Cooperstown Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.

Terry was born on March 3, 1949 in Ilion, NY, where he was raised as well.  He was the son of the late Donald E. Scott and Mabel B. Ford Scott Lindsey and stepfather Richard C. Lindsey.  He was also predeceased by his brother, David H. Scott.  He leaves behind his sister, Sandy (Philip) Slater; nephews Phil (Brianne) Slater whose children are Chase and Natasha, Michael (Nichole) Slater whose children are Isabella and Emma; niece, Tiffany (Adam) Stoker; sister-in-law, Holly Whitbeck Scott and nephews, Jeremy (Sherri Lynn) Scott and David (Andi Lynn) Scott and their children, Hannah and Davia, and Valentino; and good friend, Nancy Rigley.

Terry graduated from Ilion High School in 1967 and went on to Barber School in Utica, NY.  He also sent to Beautician School in Albany and then worked in Niskayuna as both a barber and beautician until retirement in 1993.  Terry continued to work until 2019 for Independent Living.

He was also a member of Scout Troop #5 of Ilion and spent endless years taking care of the Troop #5 cabin in Richfield Springs, NY.  He enjoyed every minute of it with scouts, friends, and family.  Terry loved cars and camping.  He cherished his companion, “Missy”, whom he shared many adventures and loyalties together along with his many loving cats throughout the years.

A private Celebration of Terry’s life will be held with his family.
