After a courageous battle with cancer, Terrie Lynn (Dibble) Gaida passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025.
Born on January 3, 1956, in Cobleskill, New York, she was the daughter of Lawrence Dibble, who predeceased her in 2012, and Eva Dibble of Summit.
Terrie was a graduate of the former Richmondville Central School and a lifelong resident of Summit. She was a member of the Summit Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Summit Fire Department Support Services where she at one time held the position of treasurer, and the Schoharie County Ladies Auxiliary. She also served as treasurer for the Summit Fire Department for many years.
Terrie enjoyed quilting, ceramics, scrapbooking, photography, and being outdoors. She cherished her trips to the Outer Banks with relatives and friends. Over the years, she was a kind, gentle, loving caregiver to many people, and she especially enjoyed doting on her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Terrie is survived by her loving husband of over 51 years, James Gaida of Summit; her children, Matthew (Kelly) Gaida of Richmondville and Melinda (John) Snellbaker of Stamford; grandchildren, Ethan (Devon) Gaida of Stamford, Mikalya Gaida (Bryan Graham) of Summit, Logan Eggleston of Summit, and Gabriel Eggleston of Stamford; her mother, Eva Dibble of Summit; and siblings, Steven (Deirdre) Dibble of Summit, James Dibble of Summit, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her grandson, Waylon Snellbaker of Stamford.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY 12043. Interment in the Summit Cemetery will take place at a future date.
