Cobleskill- Sylvia M. Killmeier, 86, of Mohawk Drive, died Saturday, March 12, 2011 at St. Johnsville Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, where she had been a resident for the past month.

Born December 15, 1924 in Summit, she was the daughter of Martin and Edna (Hotaling) Dibble.

Sylvia was a lifelong area resident and retired from the Schoharie County Office of the Aging where she was employed as a driver for Meals on Wheels. Prior to that, she worked at the former Northrup's Diner for many years.

Sylvia was predeceased by her brothers, Donald Hotaling and Morris Dibble, a sister, Mable Dibble; her son, Dennis J. Killmeier; and a granddaughter, Cheryl (Salisbury) Betts.

Survivors include her two daughters: Linda (Richard) Albert and Shirley (Edmund) Terk, all of Cobleskill; her grandchildren: Christine Albert and Richard W. Albert, of Cobleskill, Brandon Killmeier of Marblehead, MA and Carrie (Killmeier) Vincent of Syracuse; great-grandchildren: Jessica (Betts) Pardue of Stony Point, NC and Jason Betts of Richmondville; great-great-grandchildren: Lincoln Dennis Vincent of Syracuse, Lily Betts and Jayla Betts, both of Richmondville; several nieces, nephews, and a daughter-in-law: Donna Killmeier of Canajoharie.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 16, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Rev. Pamela Mikel Hayes of the Cobleskill United Methodist Church officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home on Wed. from 1 to 2 PM, prior to the service. Spring interment will be in Zion Rural Cemetery, Town of Seward.
