Susan F. Rumph

Cobleskill- Susan F. Rumph, 69, of Mineral Springs Road, died Wednesday, March 9, 2022, in the comfort of her home with her loving family at her side.

Born July 1, 1952, in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Ivan and Cecelia (Smegoski) Schaffer.

Susan retired from Catholic Charities of Delaware, Otsego, and Schoharie where she was a supervisor of the Domestic Violence Shelter.  Prior to that she was a cook for several years at SUNY Cobleskill.

On June 26, 1971, Sue married Arthur K. Rumph, Sr.  She was always there to help others in their time of need..she was a collector of lost souls..

She, along with her husband, was an active member of the Schoharie County Jeep Club.

Treasuring their years of memories are her husband, Arthur K. Rumph, Sr.; her children: Arthur K. (Dawn) Rumph, Jr. of York, SC, Kelly (Matthew) Gaida of Richmondville, and Julie Rumph of Arlington, VA; step-grandchildren:  Ethan and Mikayla Gaida; siblings:  Andrew (Patricia) Schaffer of Florida, Joanne Vachon of Florida, Michael Schaffer of Delhi, NY, and Melinda Scorzelli of Florida; cousin, Kim Kerr of Cobleskill; best friends, Sandy Nolte of Cobleskill and Carol Marshal of Worcester; many nieces and nephews and an abundance of family and friends.  Sue was predeceased by two brothers: David (Phyllis) Schaffer of Cobleskill and Daniel Schaffer of Warnerville.

Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 3 to 5PM at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill and a memorial service immediately following at 5PM. Rev. Andrew Fetter of the Fusion Community Church will officiate.
