Sue Kupres

SEWARD, NY-(Schoharie County) Sue Kupres, 98, formerly of Seward, died Monday, February 15, 2010 at Robinson Terrace in Stamford where she had been a resident for a short time.

She was born August 30, 1911 in Lansford, PA and was the daughter of Steve and Sophie (Krynak) Zupko.

Ms. Kupres spent most of her life in New York State, residing in Queens, Suffolk County, and Poughkeepsie before moving to Schoharie County in April 2009 to live with her daughter. She was of Catholic faith, a homemaker and devoted to raising her two children.

She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Kupres of Seward, NY; a son, John Kupres, Jr. of Oakdale, NY; four grandchildren, Jeanne-Marie Accetta of Brooklyn, NY, Thomas Cerniglia of Pine Bush, NY, Robert Cerniglia of Nazerath, PA and John Kupres III of Lindenhurst, NY, as well as 12 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 20, 2010 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill, NY with Rev. Thomas Holmes as celebrant. Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010 from 2-4 pm at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery.
