East Worcester- Steven G. Armao, Sr., 70, of State Route 7 passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home in Stamford, NY. He had suffered a stroke in July and in the course of recovery, he was diagnosed with advanced cancer. Steve was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 21, 1945 to Herbert and Doris Jeannette Armao. He was the first of nine children. He is survived by his brother, David and his wife, Nancy of Old Fort, TN, his brother, Tom and his wife, Cindy of Oneonta, his sister, Dorothy and her husband, Gary Wynn of Omaha, NE, his sister, Vivian and her husband, Kim Walden of Greenville, ME, his brother, Peter and his wife, Lynne, of Kingman, AZ, his sister, Karen and her husband, Steve Case of Lyman, SC, his sister, Kathy and her husband, Fird Becker of Clarkdale, AZ, and his sister, Marjorie and her husband, David Piatkowski of Lavista, NE. Steve had five children of his own: Kirsten and her husband, Steven Brown of St. Albans, VT and their five children, Sigrid and her husband, Roger Gural of Summit and their eight children, Steve Jr. and his wife, Karen, of East Worcester and their three children, Peter and his wife, Heidi, and their two children, and his youngest son, Michael. There are many surviving cousins, nieces, and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 12 PM on SATURDAY, Nov. 5, 2016 at First Summit Baptist Church, 397 Baptist Church Rd., Charlotteville with his brother, Peter Armao, officiating. Burial will follow in Charlotteville Rural Cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held on THURSDAY, Nov. 3, from 6 to 8 PM at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
