Cobleskill - Steven C. Bishop, 48, of Quarry Street, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 7, 2009, at his residence due to a sudden illness.
Mr. Bishop was born June 29, 1960 in Cobleskill and was the son of Clarence and Evelyn (Shaffer) Bishop.
He was a lifelong resident of Schoharie County and worked as a farmer on various farms in the area. He also worked for Ace Glove Factory in Richmondville for many years at one time.
Mr. Bishop is predeceased by his father, and one sister, Susan Hernandez.
He is survived by two daughters, Crystal Bishop of Sprakers, NY and Rebecca Walker of Michigan, his mother, Evelyn Benitez of Schenectady, NY, his sister, Debbie (Larry) Ivie of Phoenix, AZ, his two brothers, Richard (Michele) Bishop of Richmondville, NY, and Anthony Soto of Schenectady, NY, his Grandson, Dillion, along with several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, with Rev. Donald Klob officiating. Friends are also invited to attend a period of visitation at the funeral home from 3 to 4 PM on Wednesday, prior to the service. Spring burial will be in Slate Hill Cemetery, Town of Sharon.
