Gilboa- Steve J. Majoris, 91, of Stryker Road, died Monday, October 23, 2006 at his residence.
Mr. Majoris was born October 14, 1915 in Portage, PA, the son of Steve and Sophie (Szako) Majoris.
He was a World War II Army veteran, serving as Military Police when he first enlisted. He was discharged honorably in 1945 after three years of service.
For many years he was employed as a carpenter for United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local Union 0157. He retired in 1969, due to a disability.
Mr. Majoris was an avid hunter and animal lover.
Survivors include 3 daughters: Marie Cornell of North Blenheim, Barbara Brennan of Albuquerque, NM, and Susan Majoris of New York City; a son, Stephen Majoris of Kerman, CA; 2 sisters: Ann Harden of Florida, and Sophie Campo of Staten Island; a brother, John Majoris of New Jersey; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
A private funeral service will be held at Palmer & Shaylor, Inc. Funeral Home in Middleburgh at the family's convenience. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Blenheim, NY. There will be no calling hours.
