Dorloo- Stephen J. Stroub, 62, of State Route 165, died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 17, 2006 at his residence.
Stephen was born on May 17, 1944 in Tarrytown. He moved to Dorloo from Orlando, FL. in 1983.
In June of 2005, Stephen retired from the United States Postal Service in Albany
where he was a mail handler. He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving our country from 1963 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1982.
Stephen was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Cobleskill. He was a music aficionado, following classical and opera, as well as playing his French horn.
His wife, Gloria, predeceased him on March 26, 1997.
Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie (Bradley) Stroub-Sellen of Harrisburg, PA; a son, Stephen J. (Angelina) Stroub of Roy, WA; his parents: Stephen V. and Helen (Bobot) Stroub of Cortland Manor, NY; 3 grandchildren: Cody, Cameron, and Cassandra Sellen all of Harrisburg; and his sister, Jo-Ann McGinness of Cortland Manor, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM (noon) Friday, December 22, at St. Vincent de Paul Church 138 Washington Heights Cobleskill, with Father Thomas F. Holmes as celebrant. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm St. Cobleskill. Burial will follow the Mass at the Stroub Family Cemetery in Dorloo.
