Richmondville- (Schoharie County) Stephen W. Martin, 61, of Franzen Road, died Monday, April 26, 2010 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, NY following a brief illness.
Stephen was born January 10, 1949 in Cobleskill and was the son of Willard P. Martin, Sr. and Virginia (Brooker) Ryder
He was a 35 year member of the Richmondville Volunteer Fire Department and was employed as a deliveryman for Burhmaster Energy Services in Scotia, NY
He is survived by a son, Brian Martin of Cobleskill; a sister, Joan M. Warner of Richmondville, two brothers: Willard P. Martin, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL and David Martin of Cobleskill; his longtime friend, Karen Ortgies of Cobleskill, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 30, 2010 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY with Rev. Marvin Batcher of the Richmondville United Methodist Church officiating. Friends are invited to a period of visitation from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the funeral home where a fireman's prayer service will be held at 7:45 PM. Burial will be in Richmondville Rural Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Richmondville Volunteer Fire Department, Main Street, Richmondville, NY 12149.
