Stephen Kanciruk

Seward- Stephen M. Kanciruk, 68, of Gardnersville Road, died unexpectedly on Thursday, September 5, 2019.

Born June 28, 1951 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Stephen Kanciruk and Helen (McGuinness) Kanciruk, who survives him.

Stephen had most recently worked as an assistant in the cafeteria at SUNY Cobleskill.  In his later years, he earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science and enjoyed many hours on the computer as well as having a strong interest in muscle cars and motorcycles.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy (Molter) Kanciruk; two children:  Michael (Jessica) Kanciruk and Laurie Kanciruk; his mother, Helen Kanciruk; and four grandchildren:  Ayla, Maxim, and Vladimir Kanciruk and Lillian Gergich.

Honoring the families’ wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.

Since Stephen was a natural with animals and always so good with them, if desired, memorial contributions may be made to Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley, Inc., PO Box 40, Howes Cave, NY 12092.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
