Copake- Stephen E. Haslun, 57, formerly of Summit, died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at his residence following a long illness.
Born February 19, 1956 in Cobleskill, he was the son of the late Harold Einar Haslun and his mother, Josephine (Mattice) Haslun, who survives him.
Steve was a 1974 graduate of the former Richmondville Central School and attended Schenectady County Community College.
He and his family resided in New Milford, CT for many years prior to moving to Copake. He was retired from Kimberly-Clark where he worked for over thirty-six years in various positions, most recently as MRP Controller.
Steve was a member of the NRA and was and avid hunter, and enjoyed trap shooting.
He is the beloved husband, father, and grampy of Kelly (Francis) Haslun, whom he married June 21, 1975, Sarah (Derek) Sigler of Spencertown, NY, Melissa (Brian) Coleman of Bluffton, SC, Stephanie Haslun (Justin Zigon) of Hillsdale, NY, Ashley Haslun of Spencertown, Noah Stephen Coleman of Bluffton, SC; son of Josephine Haslun of Summit; brother to Jeanette Becker of Southbury, CT; and uncle to several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 8, 2013 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, with Rev. Jason Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Summit Cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM Monday, prior to the service.
