Middleburgh- Stella Pietnoczka, 87, formerly of Huntersland Road, died Saturday, December 3, 2011 at A.O. Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta.
Born in Poland on October 18, 1924, she was a daughter of Peter and Katherine (Sroka) Palen.
Stella and her family came to the United States in the 1950's and moved to the Huntersland area.
Stella was a member of the Huntersland Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and the Middleburgh Golden Age Club.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Valley and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
Stella was predeceased by her husband, Jan, who died in 1979; two sons: Michael, who died in 1984 and George, who died earlier this year; and her granddaughter, Tara Ann Bailey, who died in 2003.
Survivors include her two daughters: Irene Lloyd of Middleburgh and Christine Fernandez of Savannah, GA; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and her sister, Emilia Wroblewski of Long Islalnd.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Our Lady of the Valley, Main St., Middleburgh, with Father Thomas F. Holmes as celebrant. Friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the church on Wednesday from 11 AM to 1PM, prior to the Mass. Interment will be in Middleburgh Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh and Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
