Richmondville- Stanley Palmer, Sr., 87, of Beards Hollow Road, died Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Bassett Hospital of Schoharie County in Cobleskill.
Mr. Palmer, Sr. was born May 31, 1918 in East Worcester, NY, the son of Warren J. and Goldie Mae (All) Palmer. He was a lifelong area resident, owning and operating the Stan-Pal Farm since 1952. Mr. Palmer, Sr. was a member of the Schoharie County Farm Bureau and former board member.
Mr. Palmer, Sr. was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Richmondville for over 50 years and was a church council member.
He was a former assessor for the Town of Richmondville and also served on the school board for the former Richmondville Central School.
Survivors include his wife, Ilse (Schmidt) Palmer, whom he married September 14, 1946; 4 daughters: Patricia Ann Sanford of Walton, NY, Nancy Elise Cornell of Spring Valley, MN, Mary Louise Palmer of Richmondville, and Kathleen Susan Robinson of Homer, AK; a son, Stanley Palmer, Jr., of Richmondville; 2 brothers: Clifford Palmer of Cobleskill and Maynard Palmer of Esperance; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 1, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Main Street Richmondville with Rev. Gary Edmister officiating. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Richmondville Rural Cemetery.
